The
famous Namdang Stone Bridge is situated above Namdang River, 12 km from
Sivasagar, was constructed by workman brought from Bengal during the
reign of king Rudra Singha in 1703. The length of the bridge is about 70
m (232 ft), breadth is about 6 m (21 ft) and depth about 1.5 m (5 ft).
Uniqueness is that it is made from a single piece of stone. The present
National Highway 37 is passing over the bridge.
